The Copley Society of art, Co|So, is the oldest non-profit art association in the United States, with a history dating back to 1879. They currently represent over 500 living artist members, ranging in experience from students to nationally recognized artists and in style from traditional and academic realists to contemporary and abstract painters, photographers, sculptors, and printmakers. The Cahoon Museum of American Art resides in a 1775 Georgian Colonial that was once
an overnight stop on the stagecoach line between Sandwich and Hyannis. With temporary
shows changing throughout the year there's always something new to see. The art might be
historical or contemporary. The exhibition might be built around a theme, a style or a particular
artist. But the aim is always to present the work in a way that's informative and entertaining.
